According to Google, 2012 was the first year since the launch of online flight bookings that there was no increase in online flight queries – it remained static. Meanwhile flight queries from smartphones and tablets for flight bookings increased for the first time in 2012. Moreover, since 2009, the number of leisure travellers using their mobile devices for travel information has increased by over 450%, according to The 2012 Traveler Study by Google and Ipsos MediaCT.
